You’re invited to our first ever VIRTUAL Dinner with Friends! Dinner With Friends is Greensboro Bound’s annual get together/fundraiser. This year we’re doing things a little differently, but that doesn’t mean we still won’t have tons of fun with our fellow book lovers!
About the Event
Purchase a ticket to attend one of 10 simultaneous virtual events, each with its own genre focus. Hosts will facilitate discussions about: cookbooks, literary fiction, memoir/personal essay, mystery/detective, non-fiction, poetry, romance, sci-fi/fantasy, short stories, and young adult/crossover novels— all with a focus on our 2021 Festival authors!
The evening will conclude with a conversation with Greensboro’s own Lee Zacharias, author of the forthcoming novel What A Wonderful World This Could Be.
We’ve got dinner covered, too! Purchase meals from a pre-set menu from downtown restaurants Jerusalem Market or Machete.

-Step Three- (This is the really important stuff!)
If you’re purchasing a single ticket, you’re all set! Scroll up and click the “Purchase Tickets” button to continue.
If you’re purchasing two or more tickets, please read on!
Say you and your partner don’t want to attend the same genre discussion nor do you want dinner from the same restaurant (both of which are completely acceptable to us!)
When completing your registration, be sure to tell us:
- which person is attending which genre
- which person is getting which meal
- include each individual’s name, email address, and phone number for all attendees
This way we know who to assign to which breakout room, and whose name to put on the dinner order!
Frequently Asked Questions
- I’m not able to attend the event, but I’d still like to make a donation. How do I do that?
Simply click the “Purchase Tickets” button above and scroll down until you see the “Donate” button in the lower right hand corner.
- Can I attend without purchasing a meal?
Yes! Tickets for the event itself and the meal options are listed separately.
- How do I make sure I end up in the correct breakout room?
Not to worry! We’ve already assigned you to your chosen genre’s breakout room. After the welcome, we’ll automatically send you to where you need to be!
- How do get back to the large group to see Lee Zacharias after the breakout?
When the breakout time is up, we’ll notify you that it’s time to rejoin the main group. You’ll have two minutes to rejoin, after that time, the breakout rooms will be closed and you’ll be automatically returned back to the large group.
- I’m still a little confused… is there someone I can talk to?
Yes! Event Chair Ashley Sharkey is at your service! Send her an email and she’ll get back to you within 24 hours: ASharkey(at)triad.rr.com
