We host year-round literary programs designed to enliven and engage our community around reading and writing.
We offer programs, workshops, author presentations, and explorations of topics that provide the opportunity to “think globally and act locally.” All free of charge to our community.
Previous series’ and programs include:
- Summer/Fall 2020 virtual series which included the four-part Crimson Letters series featuring Tessie Castillo and her four death row co-authors, along with special guests Sister Helen Prejean (Dead Man Walking), Dr. Frank Baumgartner, Dr. Robert Brown, and John Powell.
- Writers As Witness, a five-part series exploring the role of local journalists in today’s world. In partnership with PEN America and Scuppernong Books (Fall 2019)
- Immigration Stories an eight-part series which explored the life of immigrants to the Triad from an array of perspectives. In partnership with the North Carolina Humanities Council. (Fall 2018)
- Authors John Hart, Wiley Cash, Kate Moore, and the children’s writers, Miranda and Baptiste Paul, (and a host of others) have been part of our year-round programs.
