Immigration and Refugee Matters
May 22, 2022 @ 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm
Free

Professor Diya Abdo, a Palestinian woman whose grandmother once sought refuge in Jordan, saw the need for a more inclusive approach to help refugees arriving in America. In 2015, she started the Every Campus a Refuge program, which has since spread to six other universities in the US, providing free housing to refugees on campus, language tutoring, assistance with job searches, and an army of volunteers, many of whom are students in Guilford's ECAR minor.
